Maharashtra has its own identity in country for its speedy development work as you better know this development can see only in the metropolitan city of these state. city  like Mumbai, Pune, Nasik and area an around. But an area like Vidarbha and Marathvada is not much in focus for industrial development these  reason having its own problem like Malnutrition, Drought, less irrigation, Farmer suicide i.e. But now there is the new rising hope for the Vidharbha region by The ambitious Multi Modal International Hub Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) .It will attract 20 billion dollars foreign investment in next five years and apart from this the project will give boost to 11 district of the Vidarbh region in terms of providing infrastructure and generating better employment. MIHAN will generate 1.20 lakh direct and 4 lakh indirect employment by the year 2020. Special syllabus also meant according that and it is circulated to various university of Vidarbha.

Techno Economic Feasibility Study Report prepared by the consultant M/s L & T Rambol. Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), constituted in 2002 as a special purpose for handling MIHAN and Nagpur International Airport then The Government of Maharashtra accorded approval to the MIHAN project. This project also known as a multi-product special economic zone (SEZ) which is being developed around the airport. The total project area is 4,354 hectares in which 2086 hectares for multi-product SEZ and 1,278 hectares land has acquired for airport.

Looking towards the strength of Nagpur city then we can found , Nagpur is the second capital of Maharashtra which has a strategic geographic central location in India and it is on the international aviation routes as well. Therefore this city was selected for ambitious international aviation and Cargo Hub told S. V. Chahande, chief engineer, MADC, he asserted that about year 2015, MIHAN SEZ is expected set and starts it work which should generate 40,000 crore revenue and will give employment to around 1.20 lakh people.

MIHAN international airport is being planned on 1,278 hectares land and a parallel 60 meters wide runway and 400 meters long for facilitating landing of large cargo and passenger planes. The airport building will have made in around 30 lakh sq.feet area with a capacity of parking of around 100 planes at a time.

MIHAN would consist of international airport hub, special economic zone which would consist of processing, i.e. maintenance, repairing and overhauling. It also consist of IT parks, health city, residential, commercial services. MADC proposed to set up a coal based power plant within MIHAN. MADC is also developing airport in various district in Maharashtra. So we can say MIHAN project is the great hope for the vidarbha region of Maharashtra and it should be change the identity as Developing zone instead of a suicide zone .
